Benefits of this course
By nature, the field of public health is complex and requires cooperation between diverse sectors and disciplines.
This course has been designed to incorporate the interplay between health, social factors, economy, environment, and politics to encourage creative and applied learning.
Throughout the course, youll develop a theoretical foundation and learn how to apply knowledge in real-world situations.
This course adheres to the European standards laid out by the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation. You will benefit from our cohesive link with the Royal Society of Public Health (RSPH).
Who is this course for?
Whether you have experience working within healthcare systems, or are a graduate with ambitions to develop your career in public health, this course provides the perfect foundation.
The course provides a thorough grounding in public health sciences, and you will gain deep understanding of broader public health theory, and approaches across the three domains of public health: health improvement, health protection and health services.
You will benefit from a strong team of global multidisciplinary experts as well as the diverse perspectives and experience that our students bring.
Career:
This masters degree opens the door to a wide range of careers in Public Health, NGOs, voluntary and health-related sectors.

Our graduates have gone on to work across the world both in private and public sector organisations, including healthcare systems, academic and research environments, international charities and NGOs and local and national government.
The knowledge and skills you will learn are highly transferable and valued in any environment that requires authoritative research, data analysis, evaluation and report writing.
Placements:
You will have the opportunity and support to arrange a placement, but it is not a formal requirement of the course.
Teaching and assessment
You will learn through a dynamic mix of lectures delivered by our academic staff as well as expert guest speakers, peer learning activities, guided independent study and individual supervision.
You will also take part in class discussions, group presentations, case study analyses and interactive computer-based exercises and benefit from our virtual learning environment.
There are two delivery modes:
In-person: teaching is delivered mostly via face-to-face teaching sessions taking place on campus.
Online: teaching is delivered exclusively online via live, fully interactive teaching sessions, and via recorded lectures.
Applicants should hold a first or upper second-class honours degree or the equivalent from an international institution. Relevant employment experience in the health sector is taken into consideration.
