Course overviewWith over 30 years of experience in public health education, our Public Health MPH course will provide you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to succeed in public health. The Nottingham Centre for Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham holds a full Institutional-level Accreditation by the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA). The MPH course curriculum is fully accredited by APHEA and the Institute for Health Promotion Education (IHPE).You'll be taught by a wide range of globally renowned public health experts who are at the forefront of public health in their specialisms. You may have the opportunity to hear from Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England Professor Jonathan Van-Tam and Honorary Professor and WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.From health protection to health and lifestyle behaviour choices, to more specific areas like epidemiology, you'll learn the skills needed to improve the health of our populations. You'll gain the ability to put public health questions into practice, with support in methodological skills, in research and on the ground.Our collaborative approach means that our academics' networks are shared with you. Meaning you'll benefit from our relationships and connections with a range of external partners like UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), Office for Health Inequalities and Disparities (OHID), the World Health Organisation (WHO) and local authorities. We are proud of our excellent educational partnerships with our local authority public health partners where students may have the opportunity to engage in real-world local level change.We also offer excellent pastoral support – including research support, personal tutoring, careers guidance, alumni support and social events – to help you make the most of your time with us. Our standard entrance requirement is 2:1. We may consider a 2:2 if you have evidence of work experience relevant to public health, global health, or health research. This will also be subject to a successful interview.
