( 4.1)
The University of Buckingham was founded in 1976 and is the smallest university in the country. There are over 2,000 students studying across five schools. Around 66% of students study on campus, in small, Oxbridge-style study tutorials. Notably, degrees are completed over two, not three years. Over half of students are internationals. The main campus (named the safest campus in the UK) is in a beautiful countryside location close to Stowe and Bicester village while the London campus is in Gower Street, Bloomsbury. There is also a school of Education at Whittlebury Hall, near Towcester. The university was awarded a Gold in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework.
