For example, the phenomenon of social media influencers presents ample opportunities for research, considering that billions of consumers regularly use social media platforms. Potential topics could include determinants of social media influencer success and ways in which social media influencers affect consumer behaviour.We are a member of the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) network and work very closely with industry. We preserve this proximity by encouraging dialogue with industry and opportunities for our students to work on marketing problems faced by real companies.A research degree at Abertay is excellent preparation for a career as a researcher and an academic, as well as a diverse range of professions outside of academia.
