My favorite part of Bangor is the clubs and societies system because there’s endless opportunities to try a new sport or do something fun. I also love how close and well-connected it is to both the Isle of Anglesey and Eryri National Park! My course is great and we have lots of opportunities to do fieldwork and be in the lab, and there’s a ton of volunteering opportunities to join in on! Some places to improve would be more affordable housing (halls have become extortionate, even more expensive than living privately), more study facilities (the ones we have are amazing, there’s just not enough space- especially in exam season), and the university to stop giving the Vice Chancellor pay rises and actually spend the money on students and staff (budget and staff cuts across the board while the VC took a £30,000 raise this year…). Community improvement would also be nice as students have pushed many locals out of the area from housing competition, and the town has become really dreary as shops close and festivals and such dwindle. It could be really lovely with a little help from the uni, and students held to higher standards when they’re out.

Studying at Bangor is very fun and rewarding, there are so many opportunities to go out and socialise or attend student run activities. The uni is beautiful and the uni life is very enjoyable, personally I have met so many amazing people. I have very little problems with the whole experience and can’t wait to spend the next couple years here.
