With over 1.5 billion English speakers worldwide-and that number set to grow-the demand for high-quality English language teaching has never been greater.

On our exciting MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) programme, you’ll learn to teach English to speakers of other languages and kick start a career that could potentially see you work anywhere in the world.

For those more experienced practitioners, there’ll be opportunities to develop your thinking about leadership and management skills in TESOL. You'll acquire in-depth expertise from one of the UK’s leading universities and learn how to meet TESOL professional demands. Over one year of full-time study, you'll develop advanced teaching and learning skills, cultivating a breadth of knowledge about teaching English to speakers of other languages. You’ll also develop critical awareness of both current practices and cutting-edge research.

You’ll study with top academics, who are active researchers and educators in TESOL, language education, applied linguistics, and education. You’ll also have the opportunity to tailor the curriculum to suit your individual needs. For example, you can choose an optional module and focus your dissertation project on a research area that interests you.

Upon completion, you may decide to pursue an additional qualification – a CELTA – with a local partner of ours. You’ll have the opportunity of starting it right after the MA TESOL, with the added benefit of a promotional rate.
