The third core module, Research Methods in Language Teaching, will introduce you to data collection and data analysis methods to enable you to succeed in your dissertation project.From these solid foundations, you can then specialise in your chosen area. Elective modules cover subjects such as curriculum design and materials evaluation, educational technologies and software, the teaching of English in professional and academic contexts, language assessment, discourse analysis, or, if you're a native English speaker in particular, the fundamentals of English language, grammar and vocabulary.You’ll become an accomplished language teacher. You'll gain valuable insights into the process of language teaching and learning by becoming a language learner: as part of the programme, you’ll study a foreign language for two semesters.We will give you ample opportunities to observe English language teaching in classroom situations and reflect on good practice. You’ll also have opportunities to apply your theories.All your lecturers in this programme are also practitioner teachers so you'll benefit from the most up-to-date expertise in English language teaching.
