MA Performance and Environment is an exciting programme that lets you put environmental politics at the heart of your creative practice. Studio-based learning and collaboration with local partners support the development of a portfolio of performance projects through a variety of artistic forms. Students explore performance as a form of ecological thinking (Morton) creating a site-specific practice that responds to ecological contexts. The course foregrounds artists and practices that engage with ecological philosophy de-stabilising anthropocentrism and troubling the concept of ‘nature’. Students will work alongside external partners, developing a performance practice within specific locations of ecological interest. Entry Requirements Typical offer (individual offers may vary): Applicants will ideally have a 2.1 degree and a dissertation in Theatre/Performing Arts or a related subject. We welcome applications from any other degree subject if the applicant has relevant professional experience or an academic qualification equivalent to a degree plus relevant professional experience. Applicants will also need to meet the minimum English language requirement of an IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no component below 5.5, or an equivalent recognised test. A portfolio showcasing your skills and experience in theatre performance is welcome, but not necessary, within applications to this course. International students who don't meet the entry requirements If you are an international student and do not yet meet the entry criteria for this course, you may be eligible for our International Premasters Programme. This is a one-semester programme that allows you to progress onto a masters course at the University of Chichester.
