The MA Journalism: Social Justice Journalism pathway will support you to explore journalism that seeks to make the world a better place through topics such as climate change or gender and racial equality. MA Journalism: Social Justice Journalism is a multimedia course with a strong industry focus that will support you to develop your journalistic skills. Focusing on journalism that aims to make the world a better place, youll address topics that may include the environment and climate justice, gender and racial equality, and the refugee crisis.Industry experience and opportunitiesYoull have the opportunity to work on projects with industry partners, drawing on our close links with organisations such as The Guardian, Vice, Dazed, Hacked Off, The Rory Peck Trust and Women in Journalism. Youll also be given guidance in freelancing and entrepreneurship and you will gain insights from guest speakers representing a range of national newspapers, magazines, broadcasters, websites, and from LCCs own Refugee Journalism Project. Mode of StudyMA Journalism is in Full Time mode which runs for 45 weeks over 15 months. You will be expected to commit 40 hours per week to study.
In order to be considered, you would have achieved an Honours degree (preferably a 2:1), or equivalent professional qualifications with a minimum of three years relevant professional experience.
