University of York

The Student support, especially around helping to afford accommodation- most people did not get any of their first choices for colleges and have ended up in more expensive rooms.

The best aspects are student support services, they are truly amazing, would be amazing if there were more spaces to study like quiet zones except the library. All great ones are for postgraduates but undergraduates cannot access them when they want to immerse themselves fully into work

Beautiful university with a strong sense of community. Course staff are incredibly competent and knowledgeable, making lectures and seminars interesting. Student union cares about students and fixes issues that affect them. Would definitely recommend.

The campus and York city are absolutely amazing! I have loved my time at York and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a campus university! However, student life has been quite difficult due to covid and the cost of living crisis. Student accommodation in York is very expensive and so are any student events. The supermarket on campus is deemed the most expensive in a student town! The student union tries to improve pricing on things but has been unsuccessful. Would not recommend York to students who are struggling financially. I have had 2 jobs alongside my studies to be able to fund for my time at York!

Marking Strikes and lack of communication from the department. The price of accommodation but this is a general problem in York. Lots of societies and ways to get involved great community sense in colleges.
