Wehaveanexperiencedteachingteamwhocombinerealworkexperienceofhumanresourcemanagementwithacademicqualifications,bringinga'strategicandconceptualviewtothetopicscovered.'Sessionsareinteractiveandweencourageyoutoworktogetheroncase'studies,andincorporaterole-playingactivitiestodeveloppracticalHR'skills.Weinviteguest'speakerstodeliveronrelevantmodules.Whereappropriatetotheindividualtopicscoveredduringthecourse,implicationsfor'sustainabilitywillbeidentifiedthatrelatetotheUN'SustainableDevelopmentGoals.OncompletionofthiscourseyouwillbeabletomakeavaluablecontributionwithintheHRfieldofmanagementinyourcurrentorfutureworkplace,havingacquiredboththecoreknowledgeandthenecessary'skillstodeliverexcellenceprofessionallyandwiththeabilitytoactintheroleof'strategicpartner.Inkeepingwiththeseaims,youwillpossesstheprofessionalknowledgeandbehavioursrequiredtoachieveCharteredMembership'statuswiththeCIPD,whichisthemostwidely-recognisedprofessionalbodyinthefieldofHR.Thecourseisdesignedaroundthe'skillsandcompetenciesrequiredtobecomeaprofessionalHRMpractitioner.AcoremoduleofthecourseiscalledDeveloping'SkillsforBusinessLeadership,andcoversthe'skillsandcompetencies'specifiedbytheCIPD.Youwillbeabletoparticipateinpractical,workrelevantactivities'suchasconductinganegotiationwithanemployeerepresentative,holdingagrievanceanddisciplinaryinterviewwithamemberof'staff,'selectioninterviewsandmanymore'skills-based'sessions.ThecourseiscloselytiedintotheCIPDprofessionmap,whichhasbeendevelopedbyconsiderationofwhattheleadingexpertsworkinginHRMneedtoknowandunderstandtocontributeeffectivelytotheperformanceoftheirorganisations.ForourMAInternationalHumanResourceManagementdegree,youwillhavetheopportunitytotaketheProfessionalPlacementversionofthecourse,whichisofferedasanalternativetothe'standardversionofthecourse.Thiswillallowyoutocompleteacreditbearing,20weekProfessionalPlacementasanintegralpartofyourMastersDegree.ThepurposeoftheProfessionalPlacementistoimproveyouremployabilityandtransferable'skills.Theplacementexperiencewillallowyoutoevidenceyourprofessional'skills,attitudesandbehavioursatthepointofentrytothepostgraduatejobmarket.
