On this hands-on Masters degree our aim is to cultivate high quality, entrepreneurially-adept graduates to work in all aspects of the event industry – and to positively influence change in the event sector.
If you have a particular specialism or project you’d like to develop, this can form the focus of your degree, whilst we’ll equip you with the knowledge, skillset and work-based experience to forge a successful career in the exciting events industry.
Why study this course?
Confetti has been running its own commercial businesses for almost 30 years. This includes a live music and events venue, Metronome; a co-working and events space, Antenna; and an esports complex, Confetti X. It’s in these commercial spaces where you’ll learn, gain valuable experience, and work alongside industry professionals who deliver events week in, week out.
Our and undergraduate postgraduate courses cover a range of subjects, including esports, film and TV, content creation, broadcasting and event production, music business, sound and performance. This creative network enables opportunities to collaborate, connect and extend your own skillset.
You’ll be paired with an industry mentor, matched to your project and/or specialism. They’ll work with you throughout your studies, acting as an external source of advice, support, contacts, and possibly employment opportunities.
It doesn’t stop there.
You’ll access Confetti Industry Week, regular guest lectures, and the chance to work at a range of external events, such as Splendour Festival. You’ll also have the opportunity to access a new event management/production company structure to help align working practices to the real working world, benefiting from Confetti and NTU’s broad array of event opportunities.
This programme is open to graduates with a degree from any discipline and does not require event management study to be completed at undergraduate level. A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree, or an appropriate equivalent, i.e. a professional qualification, from a recognised British or overseas institution. If you don't have a degree, please detail related industry experience and the length of time the activities took place over in your personal statemen. Applicants should have a genuine interest in event management. Please use the personal statement to demonstrate your motivation and suitability for the course, including related skills.
