Course summary
Experience the law in its real-world context while acquiring systematic knowledge, legal skills and values to thrive globally, in the justice sector and beyond. You’ll learn and apply the law practically throughout the course – working with professionals and the public through our range of award-winning advice clinics. While developing excellent legal foundational knowledge and skills, you’ll be able to build your legal interests, values and aspirations – preparing you for graduate careers in and beyond the legal sector.

Our award-winning tutors are experts in their fields. You’ll be taught by lecturers who are experienced legal researchers, and who have years of experience in the legal profession as solicitors, barristers and legal advisers.

Throughout the course you’ll gain vital industry experience working alongside lawyers on real projects. The course is designed to develop your practical legal skills to support and prepare you to participate in work with legal service providers and their clients.
Live projects
After your essential foundational preparation in legal research and study, you’ll then work on real cases and projects in one or more of our Justice Hubs, our on-campus legal service providers, or with external organisations.
Social justice
Throughout the course, you’ll help advocate for those who don’t have or can’t afford representation. You’ll also have a chance to work with court users, providing vital legal advice free of charge to members of the public.

Typically a 2.2 honours degree or above in any subject. Students without a 2:2 honours degree from the UK or Republic of Ireland are required to evidence that they meet the academic entrance requirements of the relevant professional body. This includes applicants with overseas degrees or mature students without an undergraduate degree.
