The atmosphere makes it fantastic and the people. The worst aspect is the price you pay and the little tuition you receive especially factoring in strikes.

It’s amazing how it’s surrounded by nature and it’s very close to London, but I would love for more student night life events to take place instead of every once in a while or once a week

The best aspect is the faculty and access to experts. No specific “worst” aspect as the experience has been amazing. The current redundancy scheme of the university is despicable and has certainly made the experience less perfect than what it could have been.

UOE is a great place to study because it is an accessible and inclusive university, especially for students with disabilities. The classrooms, teaching materials, and online systems are well designed to support different needs. In addition, the university is very supportive—student wellbeing services, academic advisors, and professors are approachable, understanding, and genuinely invested in students’ success.

Best aspects: The University of Essex has an incredibly diverse and welcoming community, which makes it a great place to study and connect with people from all over the world. My course in International Business and Finance has given me valuable practical knowledge and opportunities to apply what I learn. I’ve also had the chance to represent students and attend professional events, which has helped me grow personally and professionally. The support from lecturers and staff, along with the inclusive environment, really makes Essex stand out. Worst aspects / areas for improvement: At times, communication between departments or responses to certain queries can be a bit slow or unclear, which can cause some confusion. Improving coordination and providing quicker updates on academic or administrative matters would make the overall experience even better.
