The Intellectual Property & Information Law LLM pathway provides a detailed insight into this fast-growing field. The programme covers the latest practical and theoretical perspectives, you will learn about the access to, and use of, data in a global context with some of the worlds most respected legal experts. Expect interactive classes concerning the regulation of innovation and creativity, in which cutting edge issues are explored in detail.
Once enrolled on the General LLM at Kings, students can choose modules to follow the Intellectual Property & Information Law pathway and achieve a specialist LLM in Intellectual Property & Information Law . Full-time students who complete the programme in one year will normally take modules totalling 180 credits. To graduate with an Intellectual Property & Information Law LLM at least 120 credits must be taken within the pathway. This can be optional modules alone or a combination of optional modules and a writing project, providing its content is relevant to the pathway.
A minimum high 2:1 undergraduate Bachelors (honours) degree with a final mark of at least 65% or above. If you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip). Programme-Specific Requirements: Undergraduate degree with high 2:1 honours (assessed as an overall average of at least 65% across all years of study) in Law or a degree with at least 70% law content. Exceptionally, you may be considered where a comparable academic level has been achieved through other graduate studies (such as a Graduate Diploma in Law) or you have at least three years legal work experience and a 2:1 (rather than a high 2:1) in your Law degree. Please note: Meeting the minimum requirements for your application to be considered does not guarantee an offer as applications for this programme are very competitive. In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum high 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme.
