This programme is the first ever LLM in Legislative Drafting, taught at the only academic unit in the world dedicated to the study and research of the field. The course is aimed at drafters, legal officers, and those interested in the process of law making. This is the first ever LLM in Legislative Drafting, taught at the only academic unit in the world dedicated to the study and research of Legislative Drafting, the Sir William Dale Centre for Legislative Studies. The IALS is located in the heart of Bloomsbury in central London. Students benefit from visits and training sessions at neighbouring institutions including the British Museum, the Government Art Collection, the Wellcome Trust and the British Library. The Institute of Advanced Legal Studies is the largest legal library in Europe and one of the largest in the world, with over twenty specialised librarians trained to assist you in your research. The library can be accessed remotely and has a continuously growing digital collection.
The normal minimum entrance requirement is a First or Upper Second Class Honours degree from a university in the UK, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.
We will consider applications from candidates who do not meet the formal academic requirements but who offer alternative qualifications and/or relevant experience. Applicants are not required to have a law degree nor a professional qualification in law.
