Introduction

The LLM Advanced Professional Legal Practice: SQE Preparation is an advanced course tailored for Law graduates seeking to elevate their legal studies and pursue careers within the legal industry and related fields.

This programme builds on your existing knowledge of the foundational laws and principles of England and Wales. It offers insights into the practical application of legal concepts, cultivating a deeper understanding of how law operates within a broader context.

As a result, you'll acquire adaptable skills transferable across diverse fields, unlocking opportunities in roles demanding a solid legal groundwork.

You'll develop competence in applying the core legal principles and rules essential for mastering the Functioning Legal Knowledge required for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE).

You'll also have the flexibility to customise your studies to align with your personal interests and professional ambitions.

Careers

On our LLM Advanced Professional Legal Practice course, you’ll develop a range of in-demand professional skills including logical reasoning, critical analysis, research, and independent judgement.

You'll be prepared for the initial stage of the SQE assessment, and receive support with your continuing professional development.

You can boost your employability while you study by volunteering at our Law Clinic, as well as taking advantage of our ARUCPD offer and law-focussed careers events.

Graduation doesn’t have to be the end of your time with us. You could choose to continue your academic career with a research programme at ARU, such as our PhD Law.
