Our BA Liberal Arts allows you to create your own degree programme from a wide range of options in Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts that cover six major themes: Social Justice and IdentityPolitics and International Relations Literature and LanguageReligions and PhilosophyHistory and HeritageMedia and Creative Industries.This structure balances breadth and depth, and offers flexibility while ensuring you develop research expertise in your own area of interest. In years 2 and 3, students opt for a curriculum that is unique to them by choosing optional modules from two or more of the six pathways above. We’ll work with you to help you build a course that reflects what matters to you.The programme will equip Roehampton's Liberal Arts graduates with an impressive toolkit of worldliness, knowledge and skills that will be attractive to employers, and offer excellent career prospects. On this degree you will have access to many opportunities for work experience through our Careers Team, and access to face-to-face and 24/7 online careers support, whether you choose to live on campus or commute to us. We foster a supportive environment built on strong student-staff relationships and an environment that helps you to thrive.Programme schedule by year of studyYear one You take modules covering the six major themes or pathways running through the degree.You develop skills that will be invaluable throughout your degree.Year two You take greater control of your studies and forge your own path by selecting at least two modules in one of the six pathways and four further modules.Module choices are very broad and diverse, and there are opportunities to study abroad and take a work placement. Year three The only compulsory module in your third year is your dissertation in your chosen pathway, which you’ll work on under the guidance of your supervisor. What you research is up to you. You chose at least one further module from your chosen pathway and three other modules.
