LLB (Hons) with Criminology is a ‘qualifying law degree’: it meets criteria set by the Bar Standards Board and Solicitors Regulation Authority and is a first step towards becoming a barrister or solicitor. At the same time, it explores broader issues surrounding crime, justice and society.

How you will learn
LLB (Hons) with Criminology has a strong practical focus. Using our impressive court and interview rooms, you will gain skills in everything from case preparation to advocacy and negotiation. You will also undertake problem-based research into criminal and community justice systems.
Opportunities and experiences
There are opportunities for placements and internships, study trips, and mentoring by legal and criminology experts. Our Student Legal Advice Centre will build your skills in clinical legal practice by giving you the opportunity to offer free advice and assistance to members of the public who might otherwise be unable to access such services.
Careers and employability
Our graduates take up roles in private practice, the Crown Prosecution Service, the courts, law centres, the police, probation and prison services. The LLB (Hons) is also a stepping stone if you want to proceed to train as a barrister or solicitor.
