The University of Buckingham is:- Home of the two-year degree, the University of Buckingham, based in the South East of England, is ranked 6th for Student Satisfaction in the UK (National Student Survey, 2020).- Our award-winning small class tutorials ensure every student is known by name and supported throughout their studies, including by dedicated personal tutors.- As pioneers of the two-year degree, we offer a condensed version of the traditional three-year degree, meaning you can gain a full honours degree and complete your studies a whole year earlier. Alternatively, you can complete both your undergraduate and master’s degree with us in just three years: saving you time and money.Combining law with studies in another subject can be an excellent way to develop knowledge and skills that will not only make you a better lawyer but, should you not be interested in a legal career, can act as an excellent foundation for careers in other areas, such as banking, the civil service and management. It also allows you to introduce variety into your studies, as well as contextualising your legal knowledge within a business, political or cultural context. Other subjects can also reinforce your legal knowledge, for example business studies deepening understanding of company law and political studies improving understanding of constitutional and administrative law.The Law with Business Management degree is completed in two years and three months and will help you to become a confident, competent lawyer, able to practise almost anywhere in the world. Law with Business Management is an English ‘qualifying law degree’.Combining law with management studies allows you to understand the business and financial environment within which the law functions. Additionally, once you are a practising lawyer, it enables you to understand the needs of your clients better, thereby producing more tailored, commercially aware advice. Thus this combined programme begins the training process that allows you to become a successful commercial lawyer.Where the management element of this combined degree is concerned, the management studies subjects are designed to develop skills in solving business problems that are transferable organisationally and internationally across business environments. Business and management are approached as live subjects at Buckingham, and so practical and real-life projects are introduced to enhance the learning experience and to produce graduates equipped to meet the needs of commerce and industry. This approach is often highly participatory and may involve visits to selected companies to complement classroom activities. With an English ‘qualifying law degree’ from Buckingham you will be recognised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (formerly the Law Society) and the Bar Standards Board as qualified to be exempt from the academic stage of training for entry into the legal profession. Every LLB programme at Buckingham (whether single honours or combined honours) provides our graduates with this qualification. Some countries have additional requirements and if you are an overseas student you should confirm exactly what subjects you must take in order to qualify for your jurisdiction. We can usually accommodate these requirements. As a result of studying for the Buckingham LLB you will become proficient in written and oral presentation, perfect your research techniques and learn to solve problems in a logical and structured way.
