Delivered by two highly renowned academic Schools, our Law with Business LLB investigates the law and develops your business acumen through an awareness of commercial environments and business management. With research-led critical education and a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities, you will build the skills and expertise required for a successful career in law, business or related fields.
Course overview
Whether you have a desire for a career in commercial law or wish to understand the business environments in which legal firms operate, our Law with Business LLB explores the principles of law that underpin business management. You will investigate how law influences workplace operations and business practices, as well as developing an understanding of the seven foundations of legal knowledge. These include: Contract Law, Tort Law, Public Law, Criminal Law, European Law, Land Law, and Equity & Trusts.
This course enables you to develop a keen appreciation of the relationship between law and business at a theoretical and practical level, whilst building essential skills for a career in law, business or related fields such as finance and human resources.
The core structure of this programme explores the principles of law and business, allowing you to tailor the programme to your interests and careers aspirations as you progress throughout the degree. Whether you wish to investigate contemporary issues in law, study the practice of law in corporate business or take a placement module to engage with training in legal contexts.
Our civic Law School offers various practical learning opportunities that put future employability at the heart of your degree programme. These opportunities enable you to work with real clients, practice your legal skills whilst supported by qualified solicitors, and offer free legal advice to help individuals carefully navigate the justice system. Our CLOCK (Community Legal Outreach Collaboration Keele) scheme and Legal Advice Clinics offer valuable training, building your confidence, critical thinking skills and ability to communicate with various audiences.
At Keele, you can enhance your industry experience through a work placement year, gaining valuable insights into the workplace environment and building professional networks. Alternatively, you may wish to take an international year to study at a partner university. You will also have the opportunity to learn a language and become a multilingual graduate which can open up your career prospects on a global scale.
Foundation Year
Our Foundation Year provides an excellent alternative route to Keele, providing a unique opportunity to better prepare for your chosen degree, and with guaranteed entry onto your undergraduate course once you successfully complete your Foundation Year.
This extra year of study can improve your academic skills, expand your subject knowledge, give you a better understanding of higher education and, perhaps most importantly of all, build your confidence.
Your future career
As a Keele Law with Business graduate, you will attain an array of transferable theoretical and practical skills that are applicable to a range of careers. Both disciplines have relevance to every type of organisation and your confidence, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills will enable you to hit the ground running.
Your graduate attributes are valued by employers and prepare you for the workplace environment, with key interpersonal and communication skills that enable you to work effectively with others, share ideas and put your expertise into practice.
