Further study facilities are located at the Sir Duncan Rice library where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city, beach and beyond whilst you study and research. You benefit from a range of external contacts to allow you to learn from practicing lawyers whilst you study. The University of Aberdeen is set in a beautiful medieval campus in the European oil and gas hub of Aberdeen city. This provides some very useful international connections and networks across business and regulation to support your studies. Law has been taught and researched at the University since 1495 and the School of Law is now ranked 9th in the UK for Law (The Complete University Guide 2020).

The School of Law is well connected to law firms and alumni globally. It benefits from links with the energy industry and regulators in the city and global networks. There is an active seminar series in the School, and it provides a platform for staff from the School of Law, other disciplines and universities to share and build upon research at any stage.
The Postgraduate Research School
The Postgraduate Research School provides you with additional research and professional training, ranging from ethics to project management. You learn to present to different markets, and you present your research at conferences in a range of different formats. You are supported throughout your PhD research to ensure you enjoy your experience
