This is a potential research degree area, subject to the approval of the University. If you are interested in undertaking a research degree in this area, please make contact with the Dean to discuss your proposal.Abertay has a particular expertise in the areas of law relating to human trafficking, labour law, human rights, the law relating to debt, intellectual property, and corporate law and governance. We welcome applications from students considering research into these areas. These are matters which are strongly influenced by political developments within Europe and also by public awareness of the interconnected nature of a business, the availability of human labour, and the need for businesses and governments to act responsibly and in accordance with an established principle of good governance. Our research students draw on the accounting, finance, management, human resources and marketing expertise of their fellow researchers at Abertay – part of the University’s interdisciplinary research ethos.A research degree at Abertay is excellent preparation for a career as a researcher and an academic, as well as a diverse range of professions outside of academia.
The minimum entry requirement for all our research degrees is an Upper Second Class Honours degree (or equivalent) at undergraduate level in an appropriate discipline and/or a Masters degree. In some cases, appropriate professional or experiential learning may be considered in combination with a lower classification of Honours degree.
