The MSc by Research in Law within MSc by Research in the Faculty of Social and Applied Sciences aims to develop researchers who are conceptually aware, who can utilize a range of skills and methods, and who can practice and develop their own research capabilities, and disseminate that research in a meaningful way. Students from across our MSc by Research subject areas share a programme of study that explores the challenges common to all researchers. After these taught modules, students will then undertake an individual research project that will take the form of a dissertation or other research output agreed with their supervisor (e.g. two journal articles). Full-time students will have 8 months to complete their research, while part-time students will have 20 months to complete. Upon successful completion of the Research Project students will be awarded an MSc by Research in Law. We strive to deliver a high quality programme that is rooted in our research strengths, and that will provide an innovative, flexible framework in which to develop and exploit the very best postgraduate research training possible. Through working with established researchers and research groupings it is hoped our graduates will contribute to world class science and social science research that already takes place within our Faculty, delivering excellence and impact both nationally and abroad.
