Learn how communication works in everyday, professional and intercultural contexts and put this knowledge into practice to tackle some of the most important communication issues facing humanity today. As well as gaining expertise in the dynamics of human interactions and the tools to analyse communication patterns and issues, through this degree you can expect to develop your own communication skills to help you stand out in the knowledge economy.Warwick's Language, Culture and Communication degree is a globally unique interdisciplinary program that brings together insights from applied linguistics, culture research and communication science to better understand the complex and unique challenges humans overcome as they communicate with one another. As well as gaining a greater understanding of how language is used to accomplish human communication, students will be encouraged (through module assessments) to actively put this knowledge into practice as they seek solutions to some of the intercultural and communication issues encumbering the world today. While understanding language use and communication are the central focus of this degree, students will engage with a multidisciplinary collection of theories and tools from linguistics, intercultural communication, sociology, and social psychology. Our BA in Language, Culture and Communication prepares students to forge careers in a wide array of communication-related professions and, with an emphasis on culture, it has been particularly successful in preparing students for a rewarding career in the international marketplace.
