The International Year One in Computing and Engineering at Manchester Metropolitan University is designed to help you start your degree with confidence. Through the International College, you will complete your first-year university modules while receiving additional tailored support. You will also take a college module to strengthen your academic and technical skills, ensuring a smooth transition into UK university life.

With expert guidance, smaller class sizes, and access to cutting-edge computing facilities, you will be fully prepared to progress into the second year of your computing degree.

How it works

As an International Year One student, you will apply through the International College. Once accepted, you will start your first year of university just like any other student on your chosen degree. You will attend the same lectures, seminars, and tutorials as your course peers, studying the same subjects. But to make sure you have the best chance of success, you will also get extra academic and language support from the college.
