The programme reflects the breadth of contemporary international law, addressing issues as diverse as world trade disputes, United Nations peacekeeping, international human rights litigation, state responsibility and criminal trials before international courts. If you want to increase your horizons to an international platform and look beyond domestic legal orders, this LLM is ideal for you. You will be taught by a team that truly understands international issues, with staff drawn from all over the world. We offer excellent facilities including our dedicated School of Law library our main University library also contains our extensive collection of legal materials and official publications and is a European Documentation Centre. Guest speaker presentations and other extra-curricular events round off the academic programme, and allow you to engage with current debates.The LLM in International Law offers a wealth of courses that will equip you with the necessary knowledge to develop a successful career in this field. Most of our courses include perspectives on professional practice and some also include experiential learning activities, such as simulations of proceedings before international courts and tribunals. These activities are designed to consolidate your understanding of key theoretical concepts by putting them into practice in real-world contexts, and to give you practical experience with documents, drafting skills and analytical frameworks used in professional environment.

2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in Law (LLB or LLM).
We may also consider a UK 2:1 Honours degree, or its international equivalent, in international relations, politics, or a relevant social sciences or humanities subject area. While we welcome applicants from non-legal backgrounds, it is important to note that this LLM remains a law-focused degree.
