This is a specialist environmental law course covering the legal, policy and regulatory challenges of the environment, including climate change, energy transition and renewable energy.
This course from Robert Gordon University examines the roles of key stakeholders including local communities, industry, regulators, national and international organisations. Relevant to both law and non-law students with relevant industry experience.
This course involves the study of eight taught modules plus a dissertation on a degree related subject.
If you do not hold an LLB degree of equivalent, you will be required to study the Legal Framework module.
The choice of modules for any one candidate may be limited by module availability in any particular year, by timetabling factors, by prerequisites that a module may have, by the limit on online modules that may be taken by international students for visa purposes, and for any other reason approved by the Dean of School.
The flexibility of delivery caters for the busy professional who wishes to gain a detailed knowledge of this area while remaining in their home country or whilst remaining in full time employment.
The option to study full time or part time is designed to suit students or part time professionals.
The online student cohort is highly international, and enables a great amount of cross country/legal system exchange of information, experience, and practice, etc. This enhances the overall knowledge and learning experience of our students.
The LLM route provides an opportunity to those that seeks a legal qualification; and the MSc route is opportunity to include students from non-law backgrounds, and from a range of environmental experts working in technical, science, policy, regulator, industry roles, and also from the non-governmental and wider environmental communities in society.
Applicants will normally hold a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree or its equivalent in Law or a relevant subject. Applicants with relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
