Course overview
If you want to build your knowledge and experience of international business and human resource management (HRM) for your career as a future business leader, then this course is for you.
You gain an understanding of the complex and changing context of HRM, and the importance of organisational culture, resilience and sustainability in turbulent business environments in an international context.
You develop an awareness of contemporary HRM issues in readiness for being a future-thinking practitioner with cutting-edge knowledge of human resource developments.
The applied element allows you to develop practice-based solutions to real-world problems. You take on a consultancy role, working on projects or internships, identifying opportunities and ideas, before going on to present strategic solutions to the client. You develop personal and professional knowledge, skills and behaviours through a process of self-reflection on your practice.
How you learn
This programme enables you to develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of international management and broad human resource management themes as well as a range of practical, professional and key transferable skills.
How you are assessed
The assessment strategy has been designed to assess your subject-specific knowledge, cognitive and intellectual skills and transferable skills applicable to the workplace. The strategy ensures that you are provided with opportunities for feedback to assess your learning and guide you with the final assessments for each module.
The assessments include assignments, business reports, case studies, presentations, a research proposal and literature review, and the production of a dissertation. The assessments may include individual or group essays or reports.
Career opportunities
You graduate with the knowledge, experience and confidence to succeed in a management role on a global scale. You acquire a unique mix of skills to work in roles including global strategic management, leadership and management, strategic marketing management, operations, and finance, or you could even strike out in business on your own. By specialising in human resource management you could also secure roles in managing people and human resource planning.
The normal entry requirement is one of the following: an honours degree (at least a 2:2); a post-experience or professional qualification; equivalent qualifications (including international qualifications).
