Our fast-paced BA (Hons) Interior Design degree has been designed to give you the opportunity to explore all aspects of the interior design process, transforming spaces and designing exciting, innovative interiors. You will explore spatial layout and environments that improves design styling and function across a range of interior settings including domestic design and large-scale commercial interior environments.Our programme will equip you with specialist technical skills which explore the way spaces can be designed to consider sustainability, human well-being and inclusivity, while developing a deep understanding of design through trend forecasting, interior decoration, fitout and styling, 2D and 3D visualisation and architectural drawing. Modules will include digital proficiency for 2D, 3D and immersive visualisation, preparing you with specialist spatial software skills attuned to the opportunities within the professional interiors industry. As an interior specialist, you will explore interior decoration, colour theory, furniture design and applied decorative skills, developing your understanding of sampling and design fitout, combining both spatial design and styling considerations within interior design, from contract and hospitality, to domestic, luxury and functional, accessible, and sustainable design solutions. Educational visits and discussions with industry practitioners will contextualise your learning and create vital industry connections.The first year of the programme fosters creative and critical thinking as an interior specialist, allowing you to fully engage and explore spatial design across the interior design spectrum. You will be encouraged to explore your ideas through drawing and model making to develop and communicate your ideas digitally through specialist 2D & 3D visualisation software. In second year you will begin to specialise your skillset. You will have opportunities to work towards competition briefs and live projects. In your final year you will have the autonomy to develop your own brief and realise your final major project, developing your professional skills and employability.
