This postgraduate architecture course is available to graduates from Northumbria University’s BA (Hons) Interior Architecture degree only
Course Overview
Within this postgraduate Interior Architecture course, you will work in a critical and self-directed manner, developing personal and professional attitudes towards architecture and creative reuse. You will develop ownership of your investigations in design, theory, construction technology, environment, management and communication, benefiting from our established design studio culture and our student-centred approach to learning. You will work as part of a postgraduate community, sharing knowledge, techniques and replicating the way you work in architectural practice.
This innovative postgraduate course is unique in the country in that it allows Northumbria BA(Hons) Interior Architecture graduates, with a good degree to successfully attain exemption from ARB Part 1 of the Professional Examinations within the context of your existing specialist interior-based study combined with specific urban and architectural enquiry.
Your Future
This course will prepare you for the successful attainment of Architects Registration Board (ARB) Part 1 status, with the opportunity to progress within the architectural profession, further Masters level study (ARB Part 2) and a wide range of opportunities in a rapidly changing professional context.
We will equip you with a wide variety of skills in design, visualisation, communications, practice management and research. Our graduates have secured positions in a range of leading architecture and design practices, both regionally and nationally, as well as further study internationally. Our graduates are equipped to work within a range of creative fields, including architecture, interiors, exhibition design, set design, and visualisation as well as developing associated careers in design journalism, property development, project management and building conservation.
