**Earn While You Learn!**The BA (Hons) Insurance is an exciting new approach to obtaining a degree, that offers students the opportunity to work within the insurance sector whilst they study. Applicants must either already be in relevant vocational employment or will interview for employment with Be Wiser Insurance (with offices in Andover or Swindon) on a **starting salary of £18,000**. You will attend college one day a week to study and on successful completion of the course, you will be eligible for a bonus from Be Wiser to help pay off your student loan, leaving you debt free! Your salary will also rise as the course progresses and students joining us via Be Wiser may receive a concessionary fee. This degree is validated by the University of Chichester.**About Be Wiser:** Be Wiser are a highly dependable independent insurance broker committed to providing customers with first class service. As a multi award winning insurance broker, Be Wiser have insured over 1 million customers. Their staff are UK based and their offices are located in Andover, Hampshire and Swindon, Wiltshire. In 2016 Be Wiser and Peter Symonds College collaborated to deliver an industry first - developing the UK’s only BA (Hons) Insurance degree. www.bewiser.co.uk.**Why is College attendance only 6 hours per week?**We teach for 34 weeks per year as opposed to many universities teaching approximately 22 weeks per year. Personal tutorials and assessment coaching sessions are provided at mutually convenient times outside teaching hours. We use a ‘blended approach to learning’ where students are supported through a mixture of formal lectures, seminars, online materials and one to one tutorial support. Each year will be divided into three terms of approximately 12 weeks and students will complete 120 credits per year.**What could the course lead to?**The course has a strong management focus in year 3, which will prepare students for future management roles. Other potential career paths include: Insurance Broking, Claims Management, Customer Operations, Loss Adjusting, Loss Assessing, Reinsurance, The London Market (Lloyds), Risk Management, Underwriting and Actuarial.**What our Students Say:**“This degree is a fantastic experience. I did consider going to university, but the tuition fees put me off. At the end of the three years, I will have a degree as well as three years’ work experience, plus no debt and a job. This means I will have a competitive advantage over my peers who went to university.” — Recent Graduate“When researching this course, I realised a great opportunity had been laid in front of me. At Peter Symonds and Be Wiser you get a lot of support. I am really enjoying it so far and it will be refreshing to work in the various departments at Be Wiser. My ultimate goal is to be an underwriter at Lloyds.” — Current Student“I was initially unsure about pursuing a career in Insurance, but once I researched it I realised how many opportunities there are. I was concerned about completing three years at university and then going into the workplace with no experience. I chose to work with Be Wiser as there are so many options and I will come away with a debt free degree and get paid at the same time” — Current Student
