Course highlights By pursuing our MSc by Research you’ll gain high quality research training that will enable you to conduct independent investigative research with confidence and expertise. You can choose from a wide range of research areas within Inflammation and Ageing covering: Issues of ageing Rheumatoid Arthritis Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)/Lung fibrosis Acute infection and trauma-driven dysregulated inflammation Critical illness and perioperative-driven acute and chronic inflammation Long term consequences of major injury Chronic Inflammation Dementia Birmingham is ranked 76th in the QS World University Rankings 2026, maintaining our position in the top 100 universities globally.
