Our Human Biology degree combines the life sciences that are underpinned by fundamental biology with aspects of sports science, making it a challenging and highly appropriate degree if you are planning a career in scientific research or healthcare.Throughout your course, you’ll study many different topics, including genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology, and have the opportunity to get involved with ongoing research relevant to the field of human biology.You'll develop strong practical skills through extensive lab work, including sessions at our Life Sciences Industry Liaison Lab located on Kent's leading science business park, Discovery Park. Here you'll be surrounded by scientists involved in research and development in the life sciences industries and you'll be able to gain valuable experience to help your CV stand out from the crowd.The variety of modules you take will help you to build a holistic view of the physiological processes that define human form and function, both at rest and in exercise, and explore the changes that occur during the development of disease.You’ll learn how to evaluate your own scientific data and that of others, by critically discussing research findings using a variety of communication techniques, and demonstrate these skills in written reports and oral presentations.Top reasons to study with usGuest lectures and seminars will be delivered by professionals in the scientific and healthcare industry.You’ll work alongside industrial collaborators at the forefront of scientific research at our Life Sciences Industry Liaison Laboratory.100% of our students were satisfied overall with their course in the subject area of Molecular Biology, Biophysics and Biochemistry. Canterbury is just 50 miles south-east of London and less than an hour by high-speed train from St Pancras.
