As part of this course you’ll:
Understand contemporary and relevant critiques of the current housing sector
Explore topics within the context of housing studies such as the ways different groups co-exist in urban areas, leadership, professional ethics, and tenants’ law

Your employability
You’ll have the chance to support your learning and experience different urban and cultural environments on field trips. Working alongside students from other universities on joint fieldwork projects will enable you to develop your teamworking, communication and planning skills.
Teaching & Learning
Independent study is a crucial part of learning at university and you will be required to undertake many hours of self-directed research and reading, and preparation and writing of assessments. Your course is delivered through a number of modules, which will help you to plan your time and establish a study routine. Outside of your lectures, workshops and tutorials, a range of support is available to assist with your independent study. Our subject-specific librarians will be on hand to direct you to the specialist learning and study-skill resources. You’ll also be assigned an academic advisor to give you tailored feedback and support.
Career Prospects
You will have a developed knowledge of the current housing sector, and a wide range of career routes will be open to you on completion of this course, including roles in the third and public sector, and positions such as project officer or housing manager. Alternatively, you could progress on to the MA Housing, Regeneration & Urban Management at our university.
