Past students have won D&AD and YCN awards for seven consecutive years. Students present their work to industry through both local exhibitions, and within a major London venue as part of D&AD’s New Blood Festival.Areas of study:You will study the following compulsory units: graphic design practices, techniques and processes, professional development and professional practices, external design projects, typography, collaborative and advanced design projects and contextual studies. You will also study specialist units of: communication in graphic design, branding and identity, art direction, surface design and conceptual design practices.Staff expertise:You will benefit from highly-experienced, enthusiastic practicing tutors who have worked with Tesco, M&S, The Royal Opera House; Ministry of Sound; Coca-Cola; MTV; Ben & Jerry’s; Bosch; Sony PlayStation; The Beano; Centre Parcs and The Daily Telegraph.Industry links:We offer opportunities to undertake paid work experience, with recent placements at: Jam (London), Ted Baker, Bonfire Design, World of Initials. Students should have 32-48 UCAS points with some art, design and media element OR Art & Design BTEC Level 3 Diploma OR Art & Design Foundation Diploma (Pre-Degree) OR Equivalent Level 3 qualification. Entry is subject to a successful interview, where you will be asked to bring along a portfolio of your existing work. Applicants from A-Level courses displaying high levels of creativity will also be considered. We welcome applications from mature students who will considered individually on experience rather than qualifications.
