This sector is expanding and demand for qualified early years staff is set to rise. This advanced level course provides participants with the necessary skills and knowledge required for a career in early learning and childcare. The course will provide the student with a wide knowledge of the factors which influence children's care and their learning and development. Participants will gain an understanding of the principles, values and legislation underpinning early years practice.
Students will also engage in a day-time placement where they will undertake three SVQ units. Successful completion of this course provides the necessary qualifications for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council at practitioner level.
This course will provide hands-on training for those wishing to become an early years practitioner. The qualification has been identified as appropriate for early education and childcare practitioners and successful completion of the course will enable you to seek employment to work with children in a range of public and private settings and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at practitioner level.
