You’ll analyse historical events and political systems from medieval times to modern day, all while considering how societies function in a range of geographical locations. Choose from a wide range of modules encompassing medieval history, diplomatic studies, religious history, political sociology and economy, environmental politics, and more. Learn the ins and outs of governments and societies past and present, diving into political and international relations theories from around the world. Our modules explore how the past informs the present and provides a global historical understanding from the Middle Ages to this century, all through a modern lens. Equip yourself with the skills that employers value, from analysis and communication to independent and team working. There’s a chance to learn a new language for free, take our Professional Skills module and take advantage of the paid internships offered exclusively to University of Birmingham students.
