Research overview Could your dedication to Hispanic language and history influence the way their culture is recognised today? Follow your intercultural research interests to a deeper level in a department ranked 6th nationally in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021. We offer PhD supervision in a wide range of disciplines within the area of Hispanic and Latin American Studies. Our specialisms include (but are not limited to): • Literature and culture in Spain and Spanish America from the 16th century to the present day • History of Latin America (especially Cuba) • Intellectual history of Spain and Latin America Visual culture of Spain and Spanish America (cinema and painting)
2:1 (or international equivalent) in an arts, humanities or social science subject. For PhD-level study, we would usually expect you to hold, or be working towards, a masters degree in a relevant subject.
