The importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for the individual’s well-being is examined on the course. You will learn how nutrition and exercise affect the body and impact upon the individual’s health and well-being.

You will develop your knowledge of health, nutrition and lifestyle through lectures and practical sessions. You will work with highly experienced lecturers who will also provide individual tutorial support throughout the course.

On graduating you will be able to progress to the Diploma or the AfN accredited BSc degree programme in Health, Nutrition and Lifestyle.

Course Overview

The course will develop your understanding of the relationship between nutrition, lifestyle and health. You will have the opportunity to learn about the science of nutrition and the importance of nutrition for health. The psychology module considers why people adopt the health and lifestyle behaviours that they do and examines strategies to encourage positive changes.

You will develop your understanding of human physiology and how the body responds and adapts to physical activity. You will also learn how to conduct and interpret health and fitness assessments.
