Overview

This BSc (Hons) Health & Social Care (Top-up) degree will teach you about the main issues around health, social care and wellbeing communities, both within the UK and on a global basis.

You will gain a detailed knowledge of health and social care policy and practice, and will study the key contemporary issues that affect health and social care and the wellbeing of individuals and communities from a theoretical, policy and practical level.

As a graduate, you will have the skills you need to make a difference to some of the most vulnerable groups in society. This well-respected qualification will increase your employability and/or will allow you to progress onto postgraduate study.

Aims

  • Encourage development of health and social care professionals and innovative outcomes in a supportive work-related learning environment.
  • Engage in academic activities and reflective practice to enable personalised learning and individual subject focus.
  • Promote engagement in industry-focussed work, supporting the acquisition of professional skills relevant to employment opportunities within the health and social care industries.

Through this programme, past students have progressed onto numerous areas with health and social care. This has included students advancing into aspired career roles, receiving promotion at work, furthering their studies through NHS funded degrees and progressing onto a masters programme.
