Working within the field of Health and Care of Children and Young People is changing in Wales. Health and Social Care services are merging and in desperate need of dedicated and skilled professionals. Due to the unprecedented nature of the current health and care climate, there has never been a better time to become skilled in the sector.

Do you want to achieve a qualification that will provide opportunities and open doors for you to work within a range of roles when working with children and young people? Then this is the course for you.

Our unique portfolio of programmes are designed to offer flexible learning for flexible lives and work around you and your work and care commitments. All of our courses are also available as part time options.

Course Overview

This course is not only an excellent starting point for those unsure of their employment goals within the children and young person health and care sector, but can open doors in employment which last throughout your career. It offers a wide range of skills and knowledge in areas including education, psychology, research and health and wellbeing children.

The Health Portfolio programmes are purposely integrated to allow flexible entry and exit between pathways and courses. At the end of each year you are able to progress onto a different programme if your career choices or employment opportunities change.

Previous students have used this degree to gain entry into positions within the public, private and third sector. Previous students have also used this course as a platform for further study in children’s health, social work, psychology and teaching.

Career Opportunities

We have a very strong employment support and work experience system within the Health Portfolio.

We link and work closely with public, private and third sector organisations and groups to provide opportunities for both paid and unpaid work for students.

We particularly welcome applicants already working with children and/or young people in some capacity

Please note that this course does not take the place of the CCLD Level 3 qualification. If your job role or career requires this qualification we recommend you undertake it separately
