This is also part of the Health Education England General Practice Health Care Professional Preceptorship programme.What will I study?This course aims to empower you to learn the foundational knowledge needed to become a confident and competent General Practice Nurses (GPN) and an accountable member of your practice team.You'll be taught a range of clinical skills in general practice nursing, health promotion and screening as well as the management and assessment of long-term conditions.Through consultation with other healthcare professionals, you'll consider issues relating to leadership and team working, accountability, quality and governance in order to develop in your role of the GPN.This course will cover:the NHS Cervical Screening Programmewomen and men’s healthnational immunisations programme and travel careear carewound managementintroduction to several long-term conditionsmonitoring and management including:asthmachronic obstructive pulmonary diseaserheumatoid arthritisdiabetesdementiacardiovascular diseasehypertension.To help further enhance your career prospects, you can choose to top up your Level 5 qualification and progress onto our BSc (Hons) Professional Practice (Healthcare) programme.You can also choose to study the Minor Illness course, the Non-medical Prescribing Course or the MSc Advanced Practice programme.
