COURSE OVERVIEW
This Graduate Diploma in German Studies is designed to develop your German language skills and/or increase your knowledge of German culture, as well as improving your research and study skills.
This is an undergraduate-level qualification that will prepare you for postgraduate study. Graduate Certificates/Diplomas typically take one to two years to complete and are made up of two, three or four modules at final-year undergraduate degree level (worth 60, 90 or 120 credits).
ASSESSMENT
Assessment is an integral part of your university studies and usually consists of a combination of coursework and examinations, although this will vary from course to course - on some of our courses, assessment is entirely by coursework. The methods of assessment on this course are specified below under 'Methods of assessment on this course'. You will need to allow time to complete coursework and prepare for exams.

Normally a second-class honours degree in a subject other than German or modern languages. Language skills in German equivalent to A-level plus two years (also equivalent to a pass in German 5). Applications are reviewed on their individual merits and your professional qualifications and/or relevant work experience will be taken into consideration positively.
