Examine the principles and practices of the FinTech sector as you investigate crypto technologies, explore artificial intelligence, understand the role of commercial banking and more. You will learn the latest teachings in the fields of finance, economics and computing. These economic and financial theories will be applied to practical concepts such as programming language.
Develop your programming skills alongside analysing real-time financial data in our Bloomberg Suite, and develop an artificial intelligence system as you explore how organisations collect data. We will prepare you to feel confident in your future career as you continue to analyse large data sets within the financial sector, as well as developing skills on market analysis and trading.
As a future banking and finance practitioner, you will consider ethical and sustainable financial practices, appreciating the current issues in FinTech. You will graduate with an understanding of the range of disciplines involved in the financial industry, with the opportunity to delve deeper into your personal area of interest through the dissertation module.
A degree equivalent to a UK lower second class (2:2) honours degree ideally in a cognate discipline (accounting/finance/economics). We welcome applicants from noncognate degrees that have strong transferable knowledge and skills e.g. computer sciences/law/mathematics.
A lower honours degree attainment may be admitted where you can provide evidence of experience and/or prior learning, at the discretion of the department.
