Alongside mathematics and finance, you'll develop transferable skills and expertise in problem-solving and analytical thinking. These are important skills required within business and industry. This course enables you to study mathematics whilst learning key financial principles including understanding the stock market, learn the principles of business and finance or learning about insurance and risk. You'll focus on the latest techniques in financial mathematics to understand how these can be applied in the real-world.This accredited course is run jointly with Nottingham University Business School. Two thirds of your first year will be devoted to mathematics with the remainder focusing on financial topics. Later years of the degree provide more flexibility, with optional modules enabling you to tailor the course to your interests.- Core modules will build on your understanding of the fundamentals of mathematics and finance- Freedom to choose from a wide range of exciting optional modules- Accredited by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications- Support from senior students on a range of important first-year topics is provided- Good preparation for a future career in finance with many of our graduates working for organisations such as Deloitte, EY, KPMG, PwCThere's a chance to spend time overseas through the university's study abroad programme, or apply for a work placement year as part of the course too. These are excellent ways in which to boost your CV when looking for jobs after graduation.
