This highly practical, industry-focussed course for film makers, storytellers and creatives uses traditional and emerging technologies to create exceptional audience experiences. You develop skills in writing, recording, editing, directing and producing by exploring all aspects of film making and storytelling.In your first year, you study all three pathways: Film & TV Production, Story, Script & Development, Emerging Technology and Digital Performance. Experiencing a range of subjects gives you the opportunity to explore multiple disciplines before deciding what pathway to specialise in subsequently. This approach equips you with a broad range of skills to support a sustainable career. Students have generous studio access and by working in a multi-purpose multi camera film and TV studio, in our Motion and 3D/VR capture studio or the media edit lab, you learn using tools that the professionals use.You will work both independently and in collaboration with students from a wide range of other disciplines. You could be making a film using motion capture of a dancer, running an immersive gig for a band or projection mapping an outdoor event or stage production. Our wide-ranging professional network and staff active in the screen industry make sure that course content is relevant. We regularly host masterclasses with leading figures and visiting professionals keep us connected to industry needs.
