On this highly practical course, you study ‘hands on’ in our state-of-the-art studios, using a range of industry-standard camera, sound, lighting and editing equipment. At the end of your three years, you will be multi-skilled, industry-ready practitioner. Employability is a core feature of this course: it is our job to help you break into film and we work with you to develop industry links and find paid work or internships during your time with us.
Facilities and Specialist Equipment- High-spec multi-camera studios.- Specialist make-up studios. - 3D green-screen room. - Digital video-editing suites including Adobe Creative Cloud software (Premier Pro). - Netflix-standard Sony FX6 cameras for broadcast-quality film and television content. - Sony FX3 Cinema Line camera with full-frame sensor and enhanced mobility for easy solo hand-held shooting. - Industry-standard sound and lighting equipment.
Your Student Experience- The course offers a unique 70/30 practice/theory balance. - Learn to use a variety of location cameras, lighting and sound equipment; gain skills in the post-production process with Adobe Premier Pro. - Learn from an academic team who are also TV and film industry professionals. - Take on live creative briefs through our links with the local film and TV community, including Luton Culture and Clearhead Productions. - Engage directly with the industry through networking events, guest talks and workshops with film professionals. Build your professional knowledge through field trips to notable film studios including Pinewood Studios, Sky and Molinare, the UK’s leading post-production supplier. - We bring the creative industries to you with regular opportunities to meet visiting, industry-active professionals. Past guest speakers include Jess Symons, MD at Ivy House Productions; Lorraine Heaton, Production Management, BBC Studios; and Tom Wall, TV producer for Channel 4, Channel 5 and Netflix. - Build your skills and experience through our industry links with organisations and companies such as the BBC, ITV, Monkey Kingdom, Zig Zag Productions, and the Berlin Shorts Festival.
