This course offers work-based learning in Premier League surroundings, equipping you with the skills, knowledge and experience you will need to find success as a coach or sports programme leader.Academic experts deliver the programme, providing insight and support during your two years. In addition, you are continually mentored and supported by practitioners from the club’s City in the Community Trust providing perspectives from the real world of delivering community coaching and sport development initiatives.Once you’ve finished your two-year programme, you’ll have the option of extending your stay – building on those foundations with a top-up year to achieve a BSc (Hons) qualification.**FEATURES AND BENEFITS:**- Delivered in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, providing excellent practical experience supported by academic theory.- Taught at the Etihad campus, home to MCFC and City Football Academy. More than 450 players train on site every week in the Academy, from Under 6s to the first team.- The world-class football facilities include 16 pitches – including a Desso pitch dedicated to community programmes – and a 7,000-seat Academy stadium for elite development squad teams, Manchester City Women’s FC and community use.- The City Football Academy hosts more than 1,000 young people for free soccer schools run by City in the Community coaches, with 32 hours of such activity each week.- Study through work-based learning modules, spending 12 hours a week (typically) developing your understanding of health, inclusion and education with City in the Community.
