If you’re currently working in a school or educational setting, this two year course allows you to work full time. The course is designed to be delivered outside of standard working hours, whilst studying one evening a week and one Saturday a month. The course aims to develop your confidence to be adaptable, creative and inspiring, reflective practitioners. You will also develop your study, critical and research skills to prepare you to study at a higher level. The Foundation Degree will allow you to progress your career within an educational setting. It can also be a route towards Qualified Teaching Status QTS by following successful completion of the foundation degree and a top-up year to achieve a full degree. The course is delivered within the Margaret McMillan School of Education, in the heart of a thriving Further Education College and our team provide a supportive learning and teaching environment. This programme enables students to work in a support role whilst studying out of schools hours one evening a week and one Saturday a month. The wide range of modules allows students to develop specialisms within their job roles whether this be in a curriculum area, an area of SEN or pastoral care. Throughout the course, you will be supported so that you can progress int your professional role and/or further post-graduate study.The course is designed for current teaching assistants working in early years, primary, secondary or further education who want to build skills, undertake CPD, expand knowledge and move into higher level supporting roles.
